Air Jordan III Retro (1994) Black/Cement Grey

It is hard to believe that the Air Jordan III was released back in 1988. However, despite its age, the allure of the AJ3 remains strong amongst sneakerheads.  As part of their Sample Closet series, Foot Locker Unlocked is taking us back to 1994, when the first retro of the AJ3 dropped. Available now on eBay.

As seen in the images, the iconic shape of the sneaker has not changed over the years and the materials look the same also. A soft black leather covers the upper and only gives way to the elephant print on the rear and around to toe box. Down below we have a white midsole, and just below that we have a grey outsole. For you history buffs, this is the year that Jordan won his first MVP, and one of the years in which he won the Slam Dunk contest. Does anyone out there have a retro from 1994? How about 2001? 2008?

2011 Fall New York Fashion Week: Derek Lam

Derek Lam has made a name for himself in classic American sportswear, bringing modern updates to silhouettes we happily define as classics. Fall 2011 continues his refinement of sportswear. Trousers were colorblocked, oversize menswear coats received sporty stripes, and fur and leather were reworked into cropped vests and pencil skirts. Layering continued to be big, in the form of long tunics over pants, as does the color red, which designers have been using to punch up gray-toned collections. For the finale, Derek went romantic and long, in the form of flowy gowns, including one supersexy version in black leather and navy silk.

Trends: Fur details, plaid, leather. Colors: Navy, cream, black, red, cobalt. Key Looks: The slick leather jackets. Accessories: Cream leather calf-length booties. Who Would Wear It: Classic women who love a modern twist to their clothes. <!-- gallery teaser -->View Slideshow ›<!-- /gallery teaser -->

Tory Burch Runway Fall 2011 New York Fashion Week

This Fall, Tory Burch was all about English countryside dressing, appropriately upgraded for the modern American girl. Tweed pieces - including midcalf skirts, blazers, and wide-leg pants - ruled the runway, while silky palazzo bottoms proved to be the must-have piece for Fall. Romantic tie-front blouses, shearling-trimmed coats, and a bold crimson velvet suit provided other enticing highlights, while the overall '70s-inspired palette (think brown, rust, and soft peach) had us dying to outfit ourselves for the next fashion season! Watch it all here!

Diane von Furstenberg Runway Fall 2011 New York Fashion Week

Diane von Furstenberg recently debuted her new Fall 2011 collection entitled “American Legends.” The sartorial legend herself, along with head designer Yvan Mispelaere, were inspired by the spirit of the Wild West which translated on the runway to wide-brimmed hats and fringe lined fabrics, even including cowboy boots and suede accents. Of course, the line featured DVF's signature feminine soignee in the form of gorgeous liquid sequined gowns, luscious fur accents, and updated prints for the new season. Check out the full runway here, and stay tuned for an interview with the designer!
