Entering into their second season in the Big 12, a confident TCU team is not at all surprised by the pre-season number one conference ranking. Over the past few years, the school has become a powerhouse and a school no one wants to see one their schedule. With a high-powered offense and a stellar defense to match, Texas Christian University is in national championship contention each year. Strength of schedule plays a large role in their title hopes. But with games against LSU, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and Texas, if they win out, a BCS game is not at all out of reach.
LSU is the season opener and easily the toughest game on their 2013 schedule. Nike Football has designed a stylish, technologically advanced uniform for the game in hopes that TCU starts off the year with a win. Much like their horned frog mascot, TCU plays with speed, quickness, and specialized defensive tactics to render their opponent obsolete. The all-black uniforms feature purple highlights throughout with bold white numbers that boast the new spike design. Noteworthy red accents also pop within the new uniforms alongside “bloodlines” across the helmet. The coloring is just the start as Nike Pro Combat Hypercool baselayer, socks, Nike Vapor Jet 2.0 Gloves, and Nike Alpha Pro TD red chrome-plated cleats aid in heightening players performance through lightweight, durability, and breathable materials.
TCU will wear this special edition Nike uniform against LSU for the season opener on Aug. 31.
