Supermodels and the Spice Girls Give the Games Its Golden Finale
After two weeks of intense and awe-inspiring sports competitions, last night's Olympics closing ceremony put a fashionable finish on the Summer Games. In a fitting farewell to the London arena, the festivities paid homage to all things British, and our favorite part? We were treated to a double dose of seriously iconic UK style. Supermodel heavyweights Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, and Karen Elson - along with Stella Tennant, Jourdan Dunn, Lily Cole, Lily Donaldson, and Georgia Jagger - took to the stage-turned-epic-catwalk for the most spectacularly gilded fashion show, maybe ever. And of course, a runway exhibition of this proportion wouldn't be complete without a medley of David Bowie hits, including "Fashion," to walk to. If that weren't enough, our 10-year-old selves got the best "cherry on top" of all: a Spice Girls reunion. The fivesome performed in their onstage best, with Victoria Beckham stunning the crowd in a dramatic Giles Deacon number and Geri Halliwell impressing in an embellished, red, Union Jack strapless dress by Suzanne Neville and glitter Isabel Marant booties.
